Latitude Brokers expands to South Korea

Specialist marine broker Latitude has announced that it has opened a liaison office in Seoul, South Korea.

The office, which will be the third for the firm in Asia, will be run by SW Kim, who was previously with Marsh Korea, Hanjin Shipping and, most recently, SIS.

Kim takes on the role of managing director for the firm, which also has offices in Hong Kong and Singapore.

“We are very pleased to have received approval to open our office and I am looking forward to further expanding the Latitude brand in the Korean market,” Kim said.

Kim will work alongside Nick Park, who has held roles at Heung-A Shipping, Aon Korea and Hanjin Shipping, and recently joined the brokerage in its Singapore office.

Park will work with Kim to help expand the broker’s portfolio in the country.

“Expanding our presence in Asia, with SW and Nick working across the Korean and Singapore markets is very exciting,” Vanessa Toucas, founding partner of Latitude Brokers said.

“Latitude Korea will perfectly compliment the combined strength of our Hong Kong and Singapore teams.”

Tom Fulford-Smith, founding partner of the firm, will also move to Latitude’s Singapore office next month, taking staff numbers in the office to six.
