Several recruits, including internal ones, have been snapped up by QBE European Operations for the insurer’s management liability team.

Additions to the London-based roster include senior underwriters Paul Perry, Tom Hunt, and Rebecca Lowe, as well as financial lines underwriters Urvi Patel, Nic Grantham, and Mark Pankhania.

“Our expanded team bring a wealth of expertise that will be integral to the further development of our management liability portfolio,” said QBE Europe commercial financial lines portfolio manager Carly Eveniss.

“We see increased opportunity to expand the international reach of our portfolio and to work more closely with QBE’s other lines of business to provide the best service for the unique challenges our customers are facing,” continued the QBE executive, who heads the team.

“Senior leaders are increasingly being held to account when a business issue arises so having cover such as D&O is increasingly important, and we see considerable opportunity to help our customers be more resilient to such risks.”

A UK study by QBE in 2021 found that 48% of senior business leaders feel their personal liability within their role has increased, highlighting the importance of management liability.
