Two New Farmer Service Centres Under Construction in Adaklu and Keta

Volta Region, Ghana — August 21, 2026: Two new ultra-modern Farmer Service Centres are being constructed in Adaklu and Keta to strengthen agricultural production and improve access to essential services for farmers across the Volta Region.

The initiative is expected to provide farmers with easier access to agricultural equipment, technical support, training and other services needed to improve productivity and increase food production.

The centres form part of efforts to modernise agriculture in the region and provide farmers with the resources they need to expand their operations. Once completed, they are expected to serve as important hubs for agricultural support in the two districts.

The Volta Regional Minister, James Gunu, has also announced plans to support farmers with agricultural inputs as part of efforts to boost production during the current farming season. The announcement includes the distribution of 1,000 bags of fertiliser to every district and municipality in the region.

The development comes at a time when agriculture remains an important source of employment and income for thousands of people in the Volta Region. Improved access to equipment, inputs and technical assistance could help farmers reduce production challenges and increase yields.

The Farmer Service Centres in Adaklu and Keta are therefore expected to contribute to the region’s broader agricultural development by bringing essential services closer to farming communities.
