HO, VOLTA REGION β The Ho Municipal Assembly has warned individuals, organisations, businesses and other groups against putting up posters, banners, flyers and other forms of advertising at unauthorised locations within the municipality.
The Assembly said the practice of indiscriminately posting advertisements in public spaces is becoming a growing concern and could negatively affect the cleanliness and appearance of the Ho Municipality.
According to the Assembly, posters and banners placed on walls, electricity poles, road infrastructure and other public facilities without the necessary approval contribute to visual pollution and can create an untidy environment.
The warning is directed at political groups, event organisers, churches, businesses, educational institutions and individuals who advertise activities within the municipality.
Assembly Calls for Compliance
The Ho Municipal Assembly is urging anyone who intends to display posters, banners or other promotional materials to first seek the appropriate authorisation from the relevant authorities.
The Assembly also cautioned advertisers to remove their materials after the expiry of the events or campaigns for which they were displayed.
Authorities are expected to take appropriate action against individuals and organisations that fail to comply with the regulations governing the placement of advertisements within the municipality.
Protecting Ho’s Environment
The Assembly’s latest warning forms part of efforts to maintain a clean, orderly and attractive environment in the Ho Municipality.
Residents have also been encouraged to support the Assembly by reporting unauthorised posting and helping to keep public spaces free from indiscriminately placed advertising materials.
The Assembly said maintaining a clean municipality requires the cooperation of residents, businesses, organisations and other stakeholders.
