Health workers in the Volta Region have been urged to strengthen their commitment to delivering quality healthcare as the region works to improve key health indicators.
The Regional Health Director, Dr Emmanuel Atsu Dodor, made the call during the 2026 Mid-Year Volta Regional Health Sector Performance Review held in Ho.
Dr Dodor expressed concern about some health indicators in the region, stressing the need for health professionals and managers to identify challenges within the health system and take practical steps to address them.
He encouraged health workers to place patients at the centre of healthcare delivery and ensure that services provided at health facilities meet the required standards.
According to him, improving healthcare outcomes requires not only adequate resources but also professionalism, teamwork, accountability and a strong commitment from health workers at all levels.
The mid-year performance review brought together health officials and other stakeholders to assess the progress of the region’s health sector during the first half of 2026.
The review provided an opportunity for stakeholders to examine achievements, identify gaps and discuss measures to improve healthcare delivery across the region.
Dr Dodor urged health facilities to use the findings from the review to strengthen their operations and improve services to residents.
He also called for greater collaboration among health institutions, local authorities and other stakeholders to address challenges affecting healthcare delivery.
The Regional Health Directorate is expected to continue monitoring health facilities and supporting efforts aimed at improving health outcomes across the Volta Region.
The call comes as the region continues to work toward providing accessible, efficient and quality healthcare services to residents.
