NCCE Urges Volta Youth to Lead Integrity Drive

The National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has called on young people in the Volta Region to take the lead in promoting integrity, responsible leadership and democratic values in Ghana.

The call was made by the Volta Regional Director of the NCCE, Kenneth Kponor, who urged student leaders and other young people to become examples of honesty, accountability and responsible citizenship.

Mr Kponor stressed the importance of developing a culture of integrity among the youth, noting that young people have an important role to play in shaping the country’s future.

According to him, the fight against corruption and other practices that undermine Ghana’s democratic development requires the active participation of the younger generation.

Youth urged to demonstrate responsible leadership

The NCCE Regional Director encouraged young people to demonstrate integrity not only when occupying formal leadership positions but also in their everyday activities.

He urged student leaders to use their positions responsibly and to promote transparency, fairness and respect for others.

He also encouraged young people to understand their civic responsibilities and actively participate in democratic processes.

Integrity crucial to Ghana’s development

The NCCE’s call comes amid growing discussions about the need to strengthen accountability and responsible leadership across the country.

The Commission believes that instilling strong ethical values in young people can contribute to building a society where public officials and citizens alike are committed to doing what is right.

Young people make up a significant part of Ghana’s population and will eventually assume leadership positions across various sectors. Developing a strong culture of integrity among them, therefore, remains important to the country’s long-term development.

The NCCE continues to engage students, communities and other stakeholders across the Volta Region as part of its civic education and democracy-building activities.

The Commission has encouraged young people in the Volta Region to reject dishonesty, corruption and abuse of authority while embracing values that promote peace, accountability and national development.

The NCCE says a stronger culture of integrity among today’s youth can help create more responsible leaders and strengthen Ghana’s democratic institutions in the years ahead.
