Volta Region, Ghana – August 28, 2026: A major electricity expansion project is set to bring power to 206 underserved communities across the Volta Region as part of the government’s Big Push Electrification Project.
The initiative, being implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Energy and Green Transition and the Volta Regional Coordinating Council, is expected to significantly improve access to electricity in communities that have remained without reliable power.

206 Communities to Benefit
The electrification programme will extend electricity infrastructure to 206 communities across the Volta Region. The intervention is expected to support households, schools, health facilities, businesses and other public institutions.
Access to reliable electricity is also expected to create opportunities for small and medium-sized businesses, improve educational conditions and support economic activities in beneficiary communities.
