The President of the Republic of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, is set to embark on a two-day working visit to the Volta Region as part of the government’s nationwide “Resetting Ghana Tour.”
Scheduled for July 16–17, 2026, the tour is expected to provide the President with an opportunity to engage directly with residents, traditional authorities, local government officials, youth groups, and business communities across the region.
According to promotional material released by the Presidency Communications Office, the Volta Region is the latest stop in the national tour, which seeks to showcase government initiatives, assess ongoing development projects, and interact with citizens on issues affecting their communities.
Purpose of the Tour
The Resetting Ghana Tour forms part of the government’s broader agenda to strengthen public engagement while highlighting progress made in key sectors, including infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture, energy, and youth employment.
During the visit, President Mahama is expected to inspect selected government projects and outline policies aimed at accelerating development in the Volta Region.
Focus on Development
The Volta Region remains a strategic area for national development, with ongoing investments in road infrastructure, tourism, agriculture, fisheries, and education. Residents are expected to use the occasion to present concerns and recommendations directly to the President and his delegation.
The tour is also anticipated to reinforce the government’s commitment to inclusive development and equitable distribution of national resources across all regions.
Citizens Expected to Participate
Large crowds are expected to attend public engagements throughout the two-day visit, with political leaders, traditional rulers, civil society organisations, market women, students, and youth groups preparing to welcome the President.
