Akatsi South to Receive 20 Mechanised Boreholes as Polytank Delivery Is Completed

Akatsi South, Volta Region, Twenty communities and health facilities in the Akatsi South Municipality are set to benefit from new mechanised boreholes as work on a water supply project progresses.

The development follows the successful delivery of 20 polytanks by the contractor working on the project last Friday.

According to an announcement on the project, the delivery of the polytanks marks another important step towards the completion and commissioning of the 20 mechanised boreholes planned for the Akatsi South Municipal Assembly.

The project is expected to provide reliable and uninterrupted access to potable water for beneficiary communities and CHPS compounds across the municipality.

Once completed, the boreholes are expected to improve access to water for households while also supporting healthcare delivery at beneficiary Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) facilities.

The project proponents expressed optimism that the remaining works would be completed in the coming weeks, paving the way for communities and health facilities to begin benefiting from the new water systems.

The development is expected to contribute to improved sanitation, public health and general living conditions in the beneficiary communities.
