Tadzewu, Volta Region β A tragic incident has left the community of Tadzewu in the Ketu North Municipality in mourning after a young girl reportedly drowned in the Dadame Stream.
The deceased has been identified as Edoe Dedzo, daughter of the late Midaekpe.
According to eyewitnesses who were with her at the time of the incident, Edoe and a group of friends had gone to the stream when she reportedly jumped into the water. Moments later, she disappeared beneath the surface before nearby residents could respond to desperate calls for help.
The Ghana Police Service was subsequently notified and later retrieved the body from the stream. The body has since been conveyed for the necessary procedures as investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident continue.
The heartbreaking tragedy has thrown the Tadzewu community into grief, with family members, friends, and residents expressing shock over the untimely loss. Authorities say the exact cause and circumstances of the drowning are yet to be established.
