Government Reaffirms Commitment to Ho and Volta Region Development

Ho, Volta Region … The government has reaffirmed its commitment to the development of Ho and the Volta Region, with several major infrastructure projects currently receiving attention.

The assurance was highlighted during the 2026 Asogli Te Za celebrations in Ho, where the Asogli State commended the government for keeping the region on the national development agenda.

Speaking on behalf of the Asogli State, the Warlord of Asogli, Togbe Adzie Lakle Howusu XII, expressed appreciation for progress on major road projects in the region.

He cited the Ho-Denu Road, the Ho dual carriageway and the Ho-Asiku-Adome road as evidence of the government’s attention to infrastructure development in the area. He, however, appealed to the government to ensure the projects are completed on schedule.

The Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, who represented President John Dramani Mahama at the event, also assured residents that Asogli and the wider Volta Region remain important to the President’s development agenda.

The government’s broader priority projects for the Volta Region include the completion of the Ho-Denu Road, development of the Ho Airport, rehabilitation of major roads, expansion of healthcare and education infrastructure, and support for agriculture and economic development.

The Asogli Te Za celebration, held at Jubilee Park in Ho, brought together traditional leaders, government officials, residents, young people, cultural groups and visitors from Ghana and neighbouring Togo.

The 2026 celebration was held under the theme β€œUnited in Purpose, Investing in People and Infrastructure for Sustainable National Development.”

With several projects underway, residents and traditional authorities are expected to continue monitoring progress and calling for timely completion to ensure that the region benefits fully from the investments.
