Volta Region U-17 Girls Exit 2026 Elite Championship After Brave Campaign

The Volta Region U-17 Girls team has been knocked out of the 2026 Elite U-17 Girls Colts Championship, bringing an end to a determined campaign that showcased the region’s emerging football talent.

The young side competed against some of Ghana’s strongest regional teams during the six-day tournament, held at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram. Despite displaying resilience, teamwork, and determination throughout the competition, Volta failed to secure a place in the championship final.

The tournament, organized by the Ghana Football Association (GFA), featured regional champions from across the country together with the Elite Academy. The competition forms part of the GFA’s youth development programme aimed at identifying and nurturing the next generation of female football stars in Ghana.

Although the Volta Region girls will not compete for the title, their performances earned praise from coaches and supporters who believe the team has a bright future.
