ECG begins mass revenue mobilisation exercise across Volta and Oti

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has commenced a mass revenue mobilisation exercise across the Volta and Oti regions as the company intensifies efforts to recover outstanding electricity bills from customers.

The exercise, which begins on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, is scheduled to continue until Friday, October 2, 2026.

According to ECG, the exercise will cover customers across different sectors, including residential, commercial and industrial customers, as well as Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).

Ten operational districts affected

The revenue mobilisation exercise will be carried out across ECG’s operational districts in the two regions, including:

• Ho
• Kpeve
• Kpando
• Hohoe
• Jasikan
• Nkwanta
• Dambai
• Akatsi
• Sogakope
• Keta
• Denu

ECG said special teams will monitor the exercise and take action against customers found to be engaging in illegal electricity connections, interference with the exercise or illegal self-reconnection after disconnection.

Customers urged to settle outstanding bills

ECG has urged customers with outstanding electricity bills to settle their arrears to avoid disconnection and the additional cost of reconnection.

Customers who are unable to access their bills have been advised to visit their nearest ECG office for assistance.

The company is also encouraging customers to use its regular payment channels, including the ECG Mobile App, to settle outstanding bills.

ECG said the exercise forms part of its efforts to improve its operations and provide more reliable services to customers under the message: “Help ECG to serve you better.”

What customers should know

Customers in the Volta and Oti regions who have outstanding electricity bills are encouraged to check their accounts and make the necessary payments before they are disconnected.

ECG’s latest regional updates also show that the company is carrying out planned maintenance activities in parts of the Volta Region, making it important for customers to follow official ECG notices for both billing and power-supply information.
