Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa Celebrates 46th Birthday

North Tongu, Volta Region — Ghana’s Foreign Affairs Minister and Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, is celebrating his 46th birthday today, Tuesday, August 11, 2026.

Born on August 11, 1980, Ablakwa hails from Aveyime-Battor in the Volta Region and has built a notable career in Ghanaian public service and politics. Ghana’s Parliament lists August 11, 1980, as his date of birth.

Ablakwa has represented the people of North Tongu in Parliament since 2013 and has served in several public positions. He previously served as Deputy Minister for Information and later as Deputy Minister for Education before being appointed Ghana’s Minister for Foreign Affairs in 2025.

Before entering national politics, Ablakwa was actively involved in student leadership. He served as President of the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) from 2005 to 2006 while at the University of Ghana.

His political career has also seen him retain the North Tongu parliamentary seat through multiple elections, making him one of the prominent political figures from the Volta Region.
